Take the case of Dino. He was a good family man. His wife and daughter was all he had in his life. One day, he told his wife to ask assistance from his parents regarding the payments of school obligation of his daughter in school. It was raining at that time. His wife refused to go at first because of the rain but due to necessity of having the money for their daughter she consented to his husband's prodding for her to go.
His wife departed with heavy heart. She rode a bus 4 hours trip to the place of her parents-in-law. While the bus was running in a curved road, the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle in his front without seeing another vehicle in the left lane. Due to the speed of the bus it smashed head-on to the other vehicle. The head-on collision resulted to the death of quite a number of passengers those sitting near the driver. Among the fatalities was the wife of Dino.
When Dino knew the accident, he was in too much remorse blaming himself what happened to his wife. He started returning to his habit of heavy drinking. He wrecked his life because of the guilt inside his mind. This bothering thoughts brought havoc to his life. Due to his depression of what he has seen in the accident area taunting him, ridiculing him until he end his life by hanging inside his room. This was how guilt can do more harm to anyone.
Instead of putting his guilt in the right direction and maintaining good composure despite of what happened, he resorted to an action that brought misery to his daughter as an orphan.
No one was perfect. No one can predetermine what will happen ahead either good or bad. There is no need to spend too much energy blaming and hating himself when there is still a way to manage it with openness. Instead of having an appropriate step to reduce his bothered thoughts and move forward but he resorted to a very extreme action.
